During January of 2008, Christa attended part one the Josh Lyons Reining Accreditation Program for professional trainers in Arizona.
 
The Josh Lyons Reining Accreditation Program is geared toward taking the rider/trainer to the next level in performance. Classes are small with only four riders to allow for intense personalized instruction from Josh Lyons. Following are most of the topics covered in Josh's Accreditation Program:
Finishing Work
- Gaining control of your horse's hindquarters
- Communicating with your horses shoulders and hindquarters for a faster and more responsive spin
- How to keep the front end in your slide
- Energy in your stop "Hurry up and Stop"
- Going forward and thinking back
- How to correct and talk to each corner of the horse in the stops and back up
- Rollbacks: what they and why they are
- Getting your horse in the lead you need
- Leads at walk, trot, and lope
- Achieving the lead in a relaxed and controlled manner
- Simple and flying lead changes made easy
